Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision

Michael (Tim) McDonald is a Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision (LBS) at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).

In this position, Mr. McDonald is one of four deputy comptrollers overseeing the supervision of the OCC’s large bank portfolio. He assumed these duties in March 2021 and reports to the Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision.

Prior to this role, he served as the Examiner-In-Charge (EIC) responsible for the OCC's supervision of Bank of America, N.A. He also served as co-chair of the Large Bank Supervision Risk Support Committee and the LBS representative on the OCC’s National Risk Committee.

Mr. McDonald has served in various supervision roles including the EIC and Commercial Credit lead roles at Capital One, N.A., the Commercial Credit/Enterprise Credit Team Lead for Bank of America, N.A., and Large Bank Deputy Comptroller Analyst in the OCC's Headquarters office in Washington, D.C.

Mr. McDonald graduated from West Virginia University with a bachelor's degree in accounting.
