WASHINGTON – Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry announced today he has named Martin Pfinsgraff Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision.
“The supervision of large complex institutions is an extremely difficult and important function for the OCC,” said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. “Marty has a strong mix of private and public sector experience as well as the kind of deep understanding of the industry’s risk management issues to succeed in this role and to enhance the agency’s oversight of the nation’s largest national banks and federal savings associations.”
Mr. Pfinsgraff has been serving as acting Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision since February of this year. In this role, he oversees more than 550 examiners who supervise 19 banking organizations with total assets of more than $8 trillion. Prior to that, he served as Deputy Comptroller for Credit and Market Risk.
Before joining the OCC in 2011, Mr. Pfinsgraff was Chief Operating Officer of iJet International, a worldwide risk management company. Previously, he served as Treasurer of Prudential Insurance Company and as Managing Director of Prudential Investment Corporation.
