WASHINGTON—Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry today named Kathy K. Murphy as the agency’s Senior Deputy Comptroller for Management and Chief Financial Officer.
“At the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, we are fortunate to have a strong team of executives,” said Comptroller Curry. “Kathy adds to this team with deep expertise in accounting and financial matters. She displays selfless dedication to our mission of ensuring the safety and soundness of our federal banking system and unwavering support for the men and women of this agency.”
In her role, Ms. Murphy serves as a member of the OCC Executive Committee and oversees the OCC's financial management, human resources, continuing education, information technology, security, workplace services, and performance improvement.
Ms. Murphy has served as acting Senior Deputy Comptroller for Management and Chief Financial Officer since June 2014. Before that, she served as Deputy Comptroller and Chief Accountant since 2009. She previously held various roles at the OCC, including positions as a member of the National Risk Committee and Co-Chair of the agency’s Capital and Accounting Steering Committee. She joined the OCC in 2002 after serving in public accounting with two large national accounting firms and is an accounting and finance cum laude graduate of the University of Maryland.
