WASHINGTON—The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency today announced its 2014 schedule of workshops for directors of national community banks and federal savings associations.
The OCC examiner-led workshops provide practical training and guidance to directors of national community banks and federal savings associations to support the health of community-based financial institutions.
"The strength and sustainability of community banks and savings associations are crucial to the growth of local communities," said Comptroller of the Currency Thomas J. Curry. "Bank directors will find these workshops provide a range of topics important to community bankers, from regulatory issues and expectations, to emerging risks."
The OCC offers four workshops at a cost of $99 each:
Offered throughout the country, the workshops are geared primarily to outside directors of national community banks and federal savings associations. Management directors may also find the workshops beneficial.
Workshops are limited to 35 participants. Attendees receive pre-course reading and course materials, other supervisory publications, and lunch.
