WASHINGTON — Roy Madsen today was named Deputy Comptroller for Strategic Management at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Mr. Madsen will lead the agency’s Office of Strategic Management in coordinating, managing, and measuring the agency’s strategic planning process as well as coordinating the agency’s employee engagement process. He will report to Comptroller of the Currency Thomas Curry.
“Roy brings an extraordinary amount of experience, insight, and passion to this new deputy position,” said Mr. Curry. “By dedicating these resources to the strategic planning process at the OCC and creating a repeatable structured strategic planning cycle, we can better ensure that we will achieve our strategic goals.”
Mr. Madsen joined the OCC in 1979 as a Budget Analyst and has served a variety of managerial roles, including Assistant Chief Financial Officer for Financial Policy, Planning, and review; Deputy Chief Financial Officer; Director for Operations Research; and Director for Performance Improvements.
Mr. Madsen holds a master of science in taxation from American University, a master of business administration in finance from George Washington University, and a bachelor of arts from Bates College. He also is Master Black Belt in Lean Six Sigma and is a certified public accountant.
