WASHINGTON—The agency's Chief Innovation Officer Beth Knickerbocker today discussed the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency's (OCC) efforts to support responsible innovation in the federal banking system during a hearing held by the Task Force on Financial Technology of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Financial Services.
Ms. Knickerbocker's testimony highlighted the agency's work conducting extensive industry outreach, and providing advance awareness and training for OCC staff on emerging trends. Her remarks also described OCC's recent action proposing a voluntary innovation pilot program to support bank testing of activities, products, and services that could significantly benefit consumers, businesses, and communities that banks serve.
