Barry Mills is the Director for Commercial Credit Risk Policy at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Mr. Mills advises OCC senior executives on commercial credit markets and policy matters, formulates commercial credit supervisory guidance and examination procedures, and represents the OCC externally on commercial credit risk issues affecting the banking industry.
Before serving in this role, Mr. Mills was a Technical Expert in International Banking and Capital Policy. Before joining the OCC, Mr. Mills served with the U.S. Department of the Treasury as the Deputy Director of Policy with the Secretariat of the Financial Stability Oversight Council. He has also worked in the private sector and at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, where he began his career as a Policy Analyst.
Mr. Mills holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from Boston College, a master’s degree in public policy from Georgetown University, and an MBA from Duke University.
