Candace B. Matzenauer is the Director for Consumer Compliance Policy at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Ms. Matzenauer is responsible for activities associated with identifying risks and providing guidance on consumer protection policy. She is a member of the OCC’s National Compliance Risk Committee, Sector Fraud Working Group, and the Project REACh initiative. She joined the OCC in 2022.
Ms. Matzenauer has more than 25 years of private-sector experience, including 15 years working on risk and compliance challenges, while creating and implementing enterprise-wide compliance management systems and proactive risk assessments. Before joining the OCC, she held a variety of positions in banking, most recently serving as the Internal Control Director for a midsize bank, and overseeing the project management office that provided support to the business units for information technology enhancements, projects, issue management and new products.
She holds a bachelor's degree in business administration with a concentration in finance from Eastern Michigan University.
