Chizoba Egbuonu is the Director of the Asset Management Policy group within the Market Risk Policy Division at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Ms. Egbuonu is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of the Asset Management Policy Group, which establishes OCC policy and identifies risks in the personal trust, investment management, employee benefit, bank collective fund, asset management operations, corporate trust, and related areas. Ms. Egbuonu and her team of examiners and risk specialists issue guidance to OCC examiners and the industry, respond to inquiries, and advise senior management regarding asset management issues and risks. She is a frequent speaker before industry groups focusing on current asset management topics and risks.
Before serving in this role, Ms. Egbuonu was a Risk Specialist in Asset Management Policy. Before joining the OCC, she worked as an attorney focusing on employee benefits law.
Ms. Egbuonu holds a bachelor of business administration degree in finance from Howard University, a juris doctor degree from George Mason University School of Law, and a master’s of law degree in tax with a certificate in employee benefits from the Georgetown University Law Center.
