Chris McBride is the Director of the Treasury and Market Risk Policy group within the Market Risk Policy Division at the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Mr. McBride leads the day-to-day operations of the Treasury and Market Risk (TMR) Policy Group, which establishes OCC policy and identifies risks in liquidity, interest rate risk, counterparty credit and price risks. The group focuses on banking activities including trading, swaps, investment securities, bank owned life insurance, bank dealer rules, and securitization. Mr. McBride and the TMR team of examiners and risk analysts issue guidance to OCC examiners and the industry, respond to inquiries, and advise senior management regarding capital market issues and risks. Mr. McBride is a frequent speaker before industry groups focusing on current treasury and market risk topics.
Prior to this role, Mr. McBride served in a variety of capacities in the OCC in both policy and as a National Bank Examiner. He provided advice on market risk issues and served as an examiner in the OCC's Large Bank Supervision section. He also was on the staff of Federal Reserve Board and with an internationally active financial institution.
Mr. McBride received his master's degree in business administration from West Virginia Wesleyan College, and earned a bachelor of arts degree from University of Illinois-Chicago.
