Mark Thomas is the Principal Deputy Comptroller for Management and Chief Financial Officer for the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency (OCC).
In this role, Mr. Thomas oversees the agency’s planning and execution of our annual operating budget. In addition to his financial duties, Mr. Thomas is responsible for the oversight of the agency’s financial systems, internal and financial controls program, travel policy and operations, and agency records management functions as well as the OCC’s Office of Management’s compliance and strategic planning functions. He assumed these responsibilities in July 2024.
Mr. Thomas has more than 20 years of federal service in financial management operations and accounting, overseeing budgetary processes, government contracting and managerial internal controls. Most recently, Mr. Thomas served as a Senior Contract Pricing and Cost Analyst at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation where he performed acquisition management and administered financial quality assurance. Prior to his federal service, he spent nearly nine years in the private sector, in retail operations management.
Mr. Thomas holds a bachelor of science degree in marketing from Saint Joseph’s University in Philadelphia and holds a master of business administration degree from the University Maryland University College.
