WASHINGTON — The OCC today announced changes to its Large Bank Supervision leadership team.
Mike Brosnan will become the Senior Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision at the end of this year. He replaces Doug Roeder who announced his intention to retire in October. Mr. Brosnan returned to the OCC in 2008 as Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision after spending four years as a senior executive with MBNA and then Bank of America, following its purchase of that company, adding to the more than 21 years previously served at the OCC. Mr. Brosnan's OCC experience includes service as large bank Examiner-in-Charge, Deputy Comptroller for Risk Evaluation, and Director of Treasury and Market Risk. He also served as Chairman of the OCC's National Risk Committee and the OCC's Steering Committee representative on the President's Working Group for Financial Markets. He first joined the OCC in 1983 in Miami.
Also joining the leadership team are Vance Price and Sally Belshaw who will assume the duties of portfolio managers for our large banks as Deputy Comptrollers for Large Bank Supervision. Most recently Ms. Belshaw served as Examiner-in-Charge of HSBC's national banks, and Mr. Price served as Examiner-in-Charge of Capital One Financial. Ms. Belshaw's OCC experience includes service as examiner-in-charge of two other large banks and various supervisory positions. She joined the OCC in 1980, and was designated a Senior National Bank Examiner in 2005. Mr. Price's OCC experience includes service as Director for Commercial Credit Risk and various supervisory positions. He joined the OCC in 1986.
"Mike, Sally, and Vance join Joe Evers and Delora Jee on a leadership team that brings over 140 years of bank supervision experience to the challenge of ensuring the safety and soundness of our nation's largest national banks" said Acting Comptroller of the Currency John Walsh. "As the supervision of Large Banks evolves in response to regulatory reform and the changing marketplace, the agency and the industry are fortunate to be able to rely on such talented leaders."
Grace Dailey, who currently serves as Deputy Comptroller for Large Bank Supervision, returns to direct supervision of one of our largest banks as Examiner-in-Charge of US Bank in Minnesota.
Large Bank Supervision is responsible for examinations and supervision activities in the largest national banks and federal branches and agencies. The 15 banking companies in this category hold a combined $7.5 trillion in total assets, roughly 88 percent of all national bank assets. In addition, Large Bank Supervision oversees operations of the International Banking Supervision group and the OCC's London Office.
